Linbox-Free&ALter Soft and the Libre/Free Software
Linbox FAS has been specializing in Libre/Free Software and more specifically in the GNU/Linux environment since its foundation in 1996. What seemed to be at this time a quite risky bet was, for us, a natural step beyond, considering the strong Unix culture lying under the company, through its key engineers.
Reliable, stable, versatile, GNU/Linux is rapidly wide spreading among companies and administrations. On top of these strengths, Free Software and GNU/Linux also guarantee interoperability with other platforms, such as Windows or Unix. And, the absence of licensing contract, direct cost and time consumption of managing it, is, for sure, not the least of all arguments to take the GNU/Linux option.
1. Dependability and ergonomy, at optimized cost.
Linbox FAS philosophy is based on the same strict requirements : proved expertise, dependability and cost optimization.
Expertise : The competence of our specialists is endorsed by the Free Software community, specifically Debian, and by our customers, most often faithful to our company for years. The degree of requirement we impose to ourself allowed us to create a virtuous competence circle. Linbox FAS co-workers like what they do and that is visible in the quality level of service we provide.
Dependability : It is not up to the end user to pay the price of computer failures; this is the supplier's job, either upfront through proper design, or down the line through state of the art support. Our Unix culture and the methodology we follow allows us to guarantee industrial quality level output.
Optimized cost : As a result of these requirements, we claim designing performing and simple solutions. Acquisition and installation costs are always limited to the minimum possible. Maintenance cost are equally optimized since we make the best possible use of our time and maximize the use of remote maintenance.
2. "Just enough" computing
Whatever your project, the products and services we provide are designed so as to make your computing environment as simple and reliable as it can be, without useless gadgets and other marketing gimmicks.
This spirit is results from the experience acquired by our team in complex and sensitive domains such as heterogeneous networks or computing clusters.
It is only by looking for the most simple solution that such issues can be properly adressed. That is what we sometimes call "just enough" computing.
